Bio

The project Lüüp came to life in 2007 as an international project, with collaborations/contributions from musicians from different countries, supervised by Stelios Romaliadis.

The debut album Distress Signal Code was released in 2008 (Musea records, France), receiving airplay from radio stations around the world including BBC 6 music (Tom Robinson, Stuart Maconie), SOMA FM and more. The first album  explores making songs with loop techniques with flute as the main instrument influenced by Frippertronics technique developed by Robert Fripp. The album also bear the collaboration with David Jackson (Van Der Graaf Generator) among others.

in 2011 Meadow Rituals is released from Experimedia records (US) featuring a total of 19 musicians and the first Lüüp concert takes place in Cyprus (Loop Festival). Meadow Rituals is featured on many BEST ALBUMS lists of 2011 worldwide. Meadow Rituals explores chamber orchestra orchestrations, loops as compositional technique, and folk electro-acoustic templates.

The third Luup album Canticles of The Holy Scythe is released from I,Voidhanger records (Italy) in 2017 featuring 18 musicians. Canticles of the Holy Scythe explores the dark aspect of contemporary classical music with Rock in Opposition elements delving into the realms of Black Metal featuring among others Aldrahn (Dødheimsgard/Urarv) & Sakis Tolis (Rotting Christ).

In 2019 Lüüp presented the full album live with a chamber orchestra and featuring Attila Csihar (The True Mayhem/ Sunn O))).
